World Photography Day
“Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.” – Dorothea Lange
Everyone today is celebrating photography as it
is the world photography day, which is all about the appreciating the
importance of pictures and photography in our life. Irrespective of whether one
is a professional photographer, an amateur or just a photo lover, there is no stopping
for sharing pictures today.
However it is also essential to understand how this
day did came to being celebrated as the world photography day. It all started
in 1837 when Daguerreotype photographic processes were invented and developed
by Joseph NicephoreNiepce and Louis Daguerre. However on 19th August
1839, the French Government finally announced this invention as the first
practical gift to the world. And this is the story of the birth of photography
day!
The most amazing thing is that in today’s world
we cannot even imagine an era when photography didn’t exist. We live in a
techno driven world which revolves around social media and most importantly
sharing and uploading pictures and videos. Photography is an invention that has
revolutionized the way we see the world. We can now so easily connect and share
pictures with people living at far off places from ours without letting the
distance being the barrier, all thanks to pictures. We can now stay at a
particular place and share pictures of an entirely different place with our
loved ones.
A lot of people associate photography with a
lot of high maintained instruments and technology but in reality to click good
pictures all you need to understand is light, composition and the focus on your
target. Photography is all about capturing the moment and immortalizing it, we
can relive a moment again and again. Photography has the capability of making
one experience a particular moment of life again.
"Each photograph is a story captured in a single moment"
So all you readers grab your cameras and
capture as many pictures as you can!!!
