Sad demise of the Missile Man- Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

Extremely sad news reaches our nation today as the 11th President of India, Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, passed away today in Shillong due to cardia arrest. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was present at IIM – Shillong to address the audience. He tweeted this earlier today regarding the same,

He collapsed during the lecture and was taken to Bethany Hospital nearby. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and was declared dead by the hospital authorities at 7:45 pm. Many popular leaders have been tweeting about the sad demise and the Indian Government has declared 7 days of national mourning following APJ Abdul Kalam’s death.


Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam had been a very popular president and a renowned scientist. He was also a Bharat Ratna recipient and was loved by the entire nation for his great ideas and non- political mindset. His “dearest dream” was of becoming a fighter pilot but he failed to achieve it as he bagged the ninth position when only eight slots were available in the IAF. After his failure he accepted his new journey and put his “heart and soul” at his job as the senior scientific assistant at DTDP. He has worked mainly at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). He was also primarily involved in India’s civilian space program and military missile development affairs. He also dedicated a part of his life to teaching.


He was an inspiration for billions, a true visionary, a great leader and a phenomenal scientist. He was also an epitome of hard work and courage and a teacher to all of us. He shares his journey through his book, “My Journey: Transforming Dreams into Actions.” The sudden demise of this beloved person comes as a shock to the entire nation. He is immortalise through his words and actions and will be remembered always.
